Dr. Uday Shankar Jha, PCCM at Eastern Railways said, “We are delighted to have players like Ritco Logitics who are coming up with such models and solutions. This will help traders and consumers at large to receive consignment at a lower price compared to roadways. Also, it will avoid accidents on roads and reduce the risks of damage. This also allows railways to have new commodities as we are trying on model shifting.”

On the historic occasion, Surya Narayan Singh, Vice President - Multimodal Division at Ritco Logistics said, “We are happy to take the first step in the vision and dedication of the Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji. We at Ritco Logistics are committed to provide food grains at the best price and facilities to the citizens of the North Eastern states. We are grateful to Shree Ratendra Raman ji Chairman of Kolkata Port Trust, Dr. Uday Shankar Jha ji PCCM of Eatern Railways and Dr. Ravi Koda ji Principal Secretary of Assam Government for their supportive association in materializing this historic project. This is our commitment and step in nation building.”

Ritco Logistics in association with SMPK has played the role of aggregator and facilitator. Importers and traders are willing to send less than minimum required wagons find it difficult to take advantage of the economic railway freight rates of food grains. They have to send the consignment by Road at a higher price. Anyone desiring to send less than minimum Railway wagons can take advantage of this service. Ritco Logistics will amalgamate wagon loads of various traders and make it a mini rake or full rake and send them to the destination.
