In heat-related deaths, autopsy not must for certification: NCDC

NCDC guidelines state that autopsies are not mandatory for certifying heat-related deaths. Diagnosis of hyperthermia, based on investigation scene and circumstances, defines a heat-related fatality. A body temperature above 105°F before death signifies heat stroke or hyperthermia.
