Google to pay $100 million annually to keep news in search results in Canada

Google has reached a deal with the Canadian government to pay C$100 million annually to Canadian publishers. The Canadian Heritage Minister confirmed the agreement, resolving Google's concerns over Canada's online news law. Alphabet-owned Google and the government will work together to implement the Online News Act (Bill C-18). Google praised the government's commitment to addressing their core issues.
