Sony has introduced a foster program for their Aibo robot dogs to help find new homes for ageing robots. The program allows owners who have cancelled their Aibo Cloud Plan to donate their robots back to Sony, who will refurbish them as necessary and donate them to medical facilities, foster homes, and other organizations. The aim is to make Aibo more sustainable and provide emotional support to those in need. Sony plans to charge a fee for this service, which will be used to maintain and repair other Aibo units.
