Alphabet, the parent company of Google, has reported strong third-quarter earnings, beating analyst expectations. The company's revenue grew by 11% to $76.6 billion, while net income increased by 46% to $19.7 billion. The growth was driven by Search and YouTube advertising, as well as the Google Cloud business which saw a 40% increase in revenue. Alphabet's CEO, Sundar Pichai, emphasized the company's focus on making AI more helpful for everyone.
Apple has released watchOS 10.1, the first major update since watchOS 10. The update includes new features such as the ability to perform actions with a double tap gesture on Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2. It also introduces NameDrop, which allows users to exchange contact information by bringing their Apple Watch near someone's iPhone. To update, users can go to the General tab in the Watch app on their iPhone and tap Software Update.

Hackers are taking advantage of the Israeli-Hamas war by sending scam emails and creating fraudulent websites to steal money from people who want to donate to those affected by the conflict. Cybersecurity company Kaspersky has identified over 500 scam emails and fake charity websites exploiting the situation. Users are advised to scrutinise donation pages.
The number of people watching the first 11 matches of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 on TV in India has decreased by 8% to 90 million, according to BARC data. This decline is attributed to the increasing popularity of free live streaming services for cricket matches. HP has named Ipsita Dasgupta as the senior vice president and managing director of HP's India market. Dasgupta, a former Apple employee, will be responsible for leading HP's strategy and P&L in India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. She brings 24 years of international operating experience to the role, having previously held positions at Star India and General Electric Company.
Oppo has unveiled its third-generation foldable smartphone, the Find N3, which will be available outside of China. The Find N3 features a 6.31-inch AMOLED panel on the outside and a 7.82-inch display when unfolded. It comes with Oppo's third-generation Flexion Hinge and has been tested to withstand one million folds. The phone is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, has a 4,805mAh battery with 67W SuperVOOC charging, and a camera setup consisting of five cameras, including a 48MP sensor and a periscope lens. The Oppo Find N3 is available in four different colors and two finishes.
Social media giant Meta, formerly known as Facebook, is temporarily changing comment settings on its platform in response to the Israel-Hamas war. The change will only allow friends or established followers to comment on newly created public posts. The move aims to protect people in the region from unwelcome or toxic comments.
WhatsApp is introducing a new privacy feature that allows users to share voice notes in "view once" mode. The feature, currently available for Android and iOS beta testers, prevents recipients from exporting, forwarding, saving, or recording the voice note. Once the note is sent with view once mode enabled, both the sender and recipient can no longer listen to it.
WhatsApp users will soon be able to use two accounts on one device, according to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. This feature will eliminate the need for users to carry multiple phones or constantly log out and log in to switch between accounts. Users will still need a separate phone number and SIM card to set up the second account, and initial verification will require a secondary device or alternate SIM card.
