The UN nuclear watchdog on Monday called for "vigilance' against trafficking of nuclear and other radioactive material, saying it has recorded more than 4,200 thefts or other incidents over the past 30 years. Last year, 31 countries reported 168 incidents "in line with historical averages', the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said. Six of those were "likely related to trafficking or malicious use', it added.
Iran-backed members of the "Axis of Resistance' against Israel and its allies expressed their condolences Monday after Tehran confirmed President Ebrahim Raisi had died in a helicopter crash. The Palestinian militant group Hamas, Lebanon's Hezbollah movement, Yemen's Huthi rebels, the Syrian government, and Iraq-based armed groups all expressed sorrow over the passing of Raisi and eight others on Sunday.
